A dip well for the documentary ink and any bottle you decant into it — pressed clear glass, heavy in the base so a dip nib meets it without tipping, with an inner shelf that lets you draw the nib against a controlled depth rather than plunging it to the bottom.
Clear, so you read the level at a glance and rinse it clean between colours. It is a working object for a dip pen or for filling a fountain pen from the last of a bottle; the wide, low form is deliberately hard to knock over on a busy desk.
