A proper writing pad — A4, gummed along the head so a leaf tears away clean and square when a letter or a page of notes is finished, backed with a stiff chipboard so you can write on it in your lap. 50 leaves of the house ivory, ruled 8 mm.
The gummed head is the detail a spiral pad misses: no coil to snag a sleeve, no ragged perforation, just a clean edge and a flat sheet you can post or file. When the pad is done the chipboard back becomes the back of the next one on a clipboard.
